Default I think I'm in love...

Hi! I want to introduce myself. I've been reading a little, but this is my first post on the Rennlist.

I just drove my husband's 997 for the first time and well, the thread title say it all. Within two days I was configuring my own car on the Porsche website and last weekend I went and text drove Boxsters.

So I'm thinking... what do you guys think of having a two-Porsche family? Impractical? Over-the-top? Fun?

Boxster? Since your drove your husband's 997, perhaps a 997 Cab?

Cab and Coupe = perfect pairing (I may be biased as I'm looking for a TT Coupe to bookend my Cab).

BTW, welcome.

Ahh, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you guys in this forum would recommend another 997

I love those black cars by the way, mmm, beautiful!

Get a black GT3 or turbo so that your's will be faster than his. Seriously though, the Boxster is one of my most favourite cars. The lines on that car and the Cayman are the best ever. Best of luck.

First off, welcome to the forum. Secondly, I have to say the Boxster is perhaps one of the purest Porsches built today. It really goes back to the old 550 Spyder roots. Mid engine, 2 seater, perfectly balanced, designed to be a rag-top, etc.

I've got a 997.2 S coupe for street and track, and a 987 Boxster S for top-down enjoyment (my wife really enjoys it). The new DFI Boxster S is an incredibly fast and agile car. See if your dealer will let you take an extended test drive - I've had cars over night to enjoy Fri. & Sat. Great way to know for sure...

Welcome to the forum.

We need a picture of you in order to fully determine if having
two 997's is excessive.

Thanks guys, it's good to join you!

Mmmm, I gotta say that I would just love the white. Points, that car is gorgeous! Exactly the color I would choose for myself. It looks like the interior is tan and then is the top cocoa? That's the combination I'm in love with. (Why is there not a drooling smiley here somewhere?)

Test driving the Boxster was awesome. It did feel really nimble and my thought was easily manageable. (I think the 997 is still a touch overwhelming for me). One thing though, Hubby's car may be spoiling me with all that power. The S is starting to sound better and better...

And ok, here's a pic of me grinning in the car today. Scanning through some other threads I saw people mention the silly grin phenomenon when you first start driving a Porsche. I think I got it I'm sure this will help you all better determine the right car for me

Well, Johnny, I wouldn't exactly say the first drive. It took me a couple of times before the paranoia of potentially damaging the car wore off a little.
