Default Dealer Discount on '05 CPO Carrera S

I'm looking at a 2005 Carrera S Coupe at a dealer that is CPO'd. What sort of reasonable discount can you expect from the asking price these days? I'm especially interested to hear from the some of the "insiders" who lurk on the site.

Why are you interested in an 05 997? Is there something about that particular car that attracts you? (Color, options, price?)

Impossible to answer without knowing what they are asking and more details about the car (milage, options, etc.). Most dealers "ask" completely ridiculous prices on used cars and undoubtedly give large discounts.

Sorry but not enough info to make an opinion. We price our pre owned cars pretty damm low and there is a bit of room but usually out of the gate we're the cheapest around. Its hard to tell you what if any discount to expect if we dont know the car and price

It all depends on what they "own" it for. If they overpaid trade in value, they won't be able to deal as much as you would like. Your best bet is to see if they will show you their records of what they paid for it. Then you can negotiate up from there. Just like a savvy new car buyer does when negotiating up from invoice.

Otherwise, I would do some research on auction values for your car and offer them something a bit higher than that. No doubt they own it for much less than NADA "trade in" value. Which is why I reference auction values. Like Manheim auction prices.

The car has 50K miles. Only significant options are sport chrono, Bose and navigation. CPO car. Manual trans. Grey on black. Located in California. Asking price is $ 49,900. Appreciate any thoughts.

Haven't checked pricing lately, but a minimally equipped '05 S coupe with 50k miles for $50k seems on the high side to me. No doubt the dealer padded a bit due to the CPO.

^^^^ agreed.

Bought my '05 S last year with 46k on it and paid $46.5k. Aside from Nav, the car was loaded.
Granted, market may have been a softer than current but $50k price is too high with those miles and limited equipment list.

Good Luck !

Default CPO

CPO car, clean w mile you stated and CPO

someone will pay 50K....
price at 47.5K and you should feel like as least you did not get robbed assuming car is clean. (nice tires, brakes done recently, service done, CPO etc etc...)
45/46K and you should very happy, buying from P-dealer, CPO...

If you hunted long and hard and had cash in hand to shop till the cows come home you may find one a bit cheaper but not much CPO from a Porsche dealer but private party....

If you can pay 50-55k you can find this same car with half the miles and same options, cpo etc

Just my thoughts without over complicating your question with yet more questions...

Lastly the guy that is selling his modded car and noted on this thread.... that is an amazing machine with TONS of goodies for that $ but for a buyer that likes mods and OK buying private party etc it looks like an amazing car...

paid $44500 for an 05 C2, 26K miles, Bose, 19" wheels, no Nav, no sport chrono, 6 speed, 2 owner, no CPO in Jan, but I then bought a $3500 aftermarket warranty (4 yrs/ coverage to 75K miles), NON Porsche dealer, they paid shipping from PA to FL.

You both wrote C2...just want to confirm that's not C2 S, because the "S" is what the OP is talking about. Thanks.
