Really?

I actually found both Mastercraft and Craftmaster stuff to be total CRAP! Hence asking here. Most are Made in China with very poor quality.

That's why I asked, otherwise any Home Depot or Canadian Tire tools would do!

Looking for more pro tools, German, US or Japanese made stuff! I think I rather invest in a good set and keep for years!

Lista is the stuff that lasts a life time. You buy it once and never look back. That's why myself and others on this forum probably gravitated towards it.

Hazet makes many of the factory specialty tools. They sell a kit with box for cup car teams with all the tools you need for a 911. I think it's only $12,000.

you just mentioned for around the house and most manufacturers mentioned are mechanic tools.

It is used by 90% of the Forumula One teams and just recently is now being used in Nascar. Here's a look at McLaren Mercedes F1 shop with Lista ( all the Lista cabinets are in white as is the whole shop). Like I said it's the best stuff on the planet for tool storage.

My roommate used to be a Lambo Mechanic and he has all the snap on/matco stuff you can imagine. He recently sold his snap on tool box(without tools) on craigs list for about $2500. It was over 5 years old but in great shape. Buy used good stuff and it will hold its value.

I have the craftsman quiet glide series tool boxes and they are pretty weak. It works just fine for my needs though. We now have about 20 grand in snap on tools laying in a cardboard box on the garage floor and my cheapo craftsman stuff is all neatly organized.

That nice little 5-shot looks like a S&W model 36. Do you actually use that thing with the stock grip? Get thee a Pachmayr grip - and don't leave home without one!

I'm amazed at the prices of Snap-On and other high-end tools. Like Harley's, they are supported by cult-like admiration and can command very high prices. I am the first to admit that having a really well constructed hand-tool in your hand is a great experience (and every Snap-On I've ever used left a smile on my face) but even for the most gifted craftsman (sorry, no pun intended) the incremental value is on the margin.
If I had unlimited funds (and was a lot more gifted than I am when working on machines) I might buy a full set. But Craftsman still does a very good job for auto-mechanic tools. I just bought two sets (SAE and metric) of their new Craftsman (GearWrench style) open-end/ratchet-end half-twist handle wrenches. I thought the were pricey but about 1/3 of a Snap-On set. Great feel, weight, operation, finish. Sears has now diversified to a wide range (read price and quality range) of tool lines. I stick with the Craftsman stuff generally for auto-mechanic tools and I'm quite impressed. For everything else, it's Home Depot.
Every once in a while I'll order something off of the top shelf. Don't skimp on your torque wrench (get a Precision Instruments Split Beam wrench or two) and other tools that require high quality. But I am not worth top shelf stuff for a complete set.

I've seen one of the smaller Hazet sets and was not impressed with the cabinet. As most have said, Lista is the way to go.
