Default seat moves a little under acceleration/braking

anyone know how to correct this?

i looked for bolts to tighten, but they appear to be under the carpet.

i'm sure the dealer response will be "we were not able to replicate the problem."

I believe it has to do with the size of the rail within which the seat rail slides. What seats do you have in your car--it makes a difference. The purely mechanical ones put tension on the rail, virtually clamping the seat rail to the base rail. The electronically adjustable ones do the same electronically, and the amount of lash is different.

That's what I was suspecting--the manual ones simply run inside their corresponding track. You could try to peen the rail a bit to tighten things up, but in time that will wear as well.

The bolts are torx (12?) and are not under the carpet - they are covered by the plastic trim pieces. If your bolts are loose that would be a safety concern so they should be tightened right away. But I doubt if that is it - as Dan says probably play in the track. One trick that sometimes works with this is to move the seat forward or back one click of the track. Usually not enough to notice as far as comfort, but sometimes you get a tighter "seat" and no more lash.
