asked the local porsche garage how to get the pse on permenantly, as have read alot on the internet good and bad abt how to do this etc...and the dealer did it for me - simply disconnecting the plug took all of 2 secs - said does no harm what so ever.

Run it with the cable on, every few weeks so the valves don't stick.
Actually you can touch the socket with 9volt battery leads and energize the valves with the solenoid.

Makes one wonder why you pay $$$/€€€ for a switchable exhaust that you can't use
.
Here is an option : http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p97084.htm

What I'm unclear about with your system is whether the PSE becomes active (loud) when the "Sport" button is engaged and your unit is in PSE "Off" mode.
I don't really care either way, and I'm sure I'll see for myself when I install the unit, but feel free to comment...

With this PSE remote, the "Sport" button no longer activates the PSE.
You can switch the PSE on/off at any time, no matter if you're in sport mode or not.
Even when you switch off the contact, your last PSE setting will be stored.
So, no need to push buttons every time you start the car.

Is turning it on the same as unplugging? I turned on my 2005 pse with the sport button. BUT, if I unplugged it Instead to turn it on it was much louder with a deeper tone. Does the 997.2 PSE work the same way? I have mine going to a switch in the ashtray. Will it sound louder if I unplug it instead?
