How often must you balance tires as they wear...
My 09 C4S has 8,500 mi and is equipped with OEM PS2's ...for proper maintenance how frequently should the balalcing be checked. In the past I held to 5K oil changes, rotate and balance on my Cayenne with all equal tire sizes. With this C4S I'll hold to oil and filter every 5k but how about balancing? Right now it runs quietly and smoothly as far as the tires go. Thanks.

Obviously tires are not rotated. No need to rebalance unless you feel a problem/vibration.
Some tires flat spot easily and that is a problem if they do not recover by driving/heating up. I like to park overnight on thick rubber pads and that helps.

My mistake...they're Pilot Sport. I thought there might be some type of preventative maintenance. What type of rubber pads would I look into...I've seen interlocking type flooring at Lowes?...too exotic?

You can get Tire Cradle - expensive and tricky to park on. I suggest 4 1/4" 2'x2' pads or better yet 2'x4' (easier to park on). You can get those from bulk rubber at your local hardware store (OSH in CA).

I <try> to get tires balanced and an alignment once a year, which seems to be worth it - esp. on my wife's car. Assuming you need tires every 2-3 years, this is just one check before replacement anyway.
Of course this depends on miles driven and the type of roads you drive on. Here in the SF Bay Area the roads really aren't all that great (areas with higher taxes generally = lower quality roads) so I've gotten used to getting a 12-18mo "checkup" on my shoes and alignment and/or balance is usually needed.
