Default 2009 C4S with LSD ?

Perhaps a silly question but though I believe the PASM Sports Suspension in my PDK C4S launch car includes an LSD rear...I cannot find it documented anywhere and only know of it by having read a few articles in Excellence Magazine. I don't see reference to it in the car configurator either. Thanks for any info. I guess I'd like proof positive however that can be had. Let me know what you think. I suppose I can call the dealer though I work nights and this just came to mind.

The best I can do from work, this is from the 2009 brochure "The New 911" I'll check my window sticker when I get home.

If you check the Ordering Guide for the 2009 Carreras, you will see that LSD comes standard when you order the PASM Sports Suspension. It will not therefore be documented on your cars spec sheet or window sticker because it is INCLUDED with Sports PASM.

Here, but curiously it only shows it as an option for the C2 cars. Perhaps it was standard on the C4S--checked the Ordering Guide and it shows PASM as standard on the C4S but not SPASM.

FWIW, LSD was one of my options on my 09 TT.

Exactly as you say...The window sticker lists PASM Sports Suspension...I see now from the brochure that the LSD goes hand in hand with PASM Sports Suspension...must have missed that in my perusal. Where can I access the order guide...never saw on of those. Thanks for the help!.

Except that the PASM sport suspension with LSD, shown in the ordering guide excerpt above, is option P17 for the Carrera and Carrera S coupe. The PASM sport suspension for the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S coupe is listed seperately in the ordering guide as option 030 and the description does not include the LSD.

Also, the PASM sport suspension on the Carrera 4 models is $950 less than the corresponding option on the Carrera 2 models, and, not so coincidentally I suspect, the stand alone LSD option (option 220) happens to cost $950 and is shown as available only on the Carrera and Carrera S.

I don't think the 4 models come with LSD and I'm guessing the all wheel drive layout has something to do with that.

Sport Suspension cars do come w/ LSD. All 997.2 C4S sport suspension or not do come w/ LSD also.

To the OP: how come you do not notice the LSD doing its work?

Nowhere in the 2009 ordering guide descriptions of standard or optional features does it show the mechanical LSD as available on the C4 or C4S. Just curious, and not to doubt you , but where does your info come from?

Of course you are doubting me. But just look on pg. 25 of the 997.2 brochure, where it clearly refers to LSD in tandem w/ PTM on 997.2 4WD cars. Why don't all Porsche owners know this stuff?

If you have SPASM OR a C4S 997.2 you have an LSD included.

No idea what conspiracy theory is being refered to but I stand corrected on the LSD. I don't have the brochure you mention, but I have the 2009 Technik Introduction for the 997.2 and it does list the LSD for the C4S, even if the ordering guide doesn't. I've only been a Porsche owner for 25 years; cut me some slack I still have more to learn.

GOT IT !...& thanks!...page 25 clears it all up...AWD/PTM models have a LSD rear inherent to them, rather than relying upon the PASM Sports Suspension option. I learned a bunch. Now to a new post about overreving fears!?
