Default Help with an inspection in the Los Angeles area

I'm trying to purchase a 997 C2S from Rusnak Westlake. I'm having a PPI done on the car but would like to have a second set of eyes on the car before I fly out on Wednesday. Any of you guys in the area that might be available to take a look tomorrow or Tuesday? I'm hoping to confirm that there are no major blemishes, that it drives straight, doesn't smell(?), etc. I will PM details to anyone gracious enough to help.

Tomorrow I will confirm that the car is mine subject to inspection, so this is still a bit tentative.

Also, I was planning to drive the car back home, but I was told that CA sales tax will apply unless the car is trucked out of state. Correct?

Thank you.

It's my belief that where you REGISTER the car drives the collection of sales tax. California only gets their share when the car is registered in California.

Thanks Dan. I have done a little more research and see that CA is one of the few states that collects sales tax even if the car leaves the state unless it is shipped across state lines. I think the dealer may be correct on this one. Unfortunately this may kill my 2 day trip back home.

Good luck. Knowing Calif. they love to get a piece of everything they can-=-matched only by the Feds.

Sandalwood.....the couple of times i was interacting with California dealers, they had advised the same....even offered to transport the car to the state line to avoid California tax.

Meet them in Vegas...probably $400 to transport which is alot cheaper than 8.75-9.5% depending which county you are in CA. I might be able to swing by there tomorrow....pm me.
