Default Price check please

Interested to get your thoughts on a price for an '06. Details are:

Gray/Black, manual C2 coupe, nothing special options-wise, 30-35k miles. Appears in great shape, CPO at Porsche dealer, 1 owner, good weather location. And yes, it is the car I want (as I know I'll get the usual response of "if it's the car for you then don't get too hung up on price" )

I figured a small premium to be built in for being at a dealer v. private obviously, and then $1-1.5k of value for having the CPO attached.

Curious what you guys think, as I'm a little green to 997 pricing.

Thanks in advance!

Run the KBB.com tool for a start. Options make a difference. Mileage makes a difference (is it 30 or 35?). Get the details (as in details ) and you'll get a better idea of a fair price. I'm guessing low-mid 40's.

FYI- Relative of mine just bought a brand new '09 carreraS with reasonable options for 18K under MSRP at $76,000.

When I was researching the market back in July/August I used the following to figure out a fair price I was confortable with. Manheim auctions is in my view the base number, if that's the price a car is selling at auctions then no dealership will go bellow that. If CPO, add 1.5-2k. Plus 1-2k pure dealership profit +/- options (or lack of them). That will get you a pretty good idea of what you should pay.
Blue book is good for higher sale volume cars, not with Porsches IMHO. They give you a too wide range and oftentimes unrealistic.

$45k would be fair.

I like this approach. "Dealer retail" is meaningless. I'm going to pick up a used Yukon in the next couple of weeks. I'll start with the Galves value (everyone here in the NE loves those) and go up from there.

How does one get a Manheim base number without being a dealer?

I'm sure there's people here that can help. Also check the other forum (6SOL) there's a section for auto leasing and financing where you can request the info for your particular model of interest.

Agree with your thought process... but the CPO probably adds more than 1-1.5K, esp from the retail side, esp for a car that's essentially out of manufacturer warrantee-
