Looking for a sanity check on a '07-08 997 C2S cab
I've been reading this board for a few years now and finally ready to begin a search for a 2007 or 2008 C2S cab. Surprisingly I found a 2007 near my house that checks all the boxes (CPO, PSE, full leather, acceptable colors, 6 spd, etc.). It has fewer than 10,000 miles and the asking price is around $70k. I assumed the search would take months for the perfect car so I don't want to rush it; however, if the test drive, PPI, DME scan, etc. all check out, I'll probably make an offer.
Long way of getting to my question: Any help with recent pricing on comparable cars (or anything close)? I would like to be in the low $60's, but don't mind being a little higher for the right car. Any thoughts? I've been through Porscheusa.com, autotrader, cars.com, so I know generally what's available but if you happen to know of one that fits this description, I'm willing to travel for the right car.
I have learned a great deal on this board and looking forward to finally being in the club.

Yes, KBB and Edmunds show prices in the $66-68 range so I'm not offended at the asking price; however, I'm always skeptical that KBB is the most relevant source of information. I know it's hard to have precise comparisons for used cars, but I would be more comfortable if I knew what people are actually paying in recent transactions. Thanks.

I think that when you buy a Porsche, price is only one of the factors in the decision. You can always find a lower price but if you can find out the history, get the extended warranty, like the color and it has the goodies you want, go for it. It sounds like the "perfect" car. Pay the price but ask for new Michelins all around. You are going to need them soon. Good luck.

FWIW, I got my 08 C4S Cab last spring. It had 6,800 miles on it. Fairly loaded with a few aftermarket items (GT3 front bumper, Rinspeed Indy rear bumper, Full Front Clearbra by Premier, Plenum, SmarTop, etc.). Paid $72k.
Hope that helps as a reference.

$70k isn't a bad asking price by a dealer. But I'd be surprised if they didn't accept $5k less if you offered cash. Dealer prices are typically optimistic. I always remind myself that they didn't pay any more than the trade-in value. I don't mind them making $5k or so, but think more is a little greedy.
