Default Cool comparo video.

Great video comparing the 997S with the base Carrera + the changes from the 996. Love the driving video with an inset of the footwell -- cool to see a pro doing heel/toe throttle blips. It's the most comprehensive piece I've seen -- kind of long, but very good.

Sorry if this is a re-post, I ran across it yesterday for the first time...

Nice review! The S rocks
This should be a reference video to anyone looking to buy a 997, it answers several key questions...

One of the best comparo videos I've seen. No BS. All informative stuff, from pros who know what they're talking about, and it was as fair of a race as possible!

I found it interesting that most preffered 18" to 19" for track! Makes me think if I should use my winter wheels as track wheels!

Alex, I saw another video, I think with some of the same drivers, doing a back to back comparison of 18's vs 19's on the same car. 19's had very slightly better times, but 18's were significantly easier to drive at the limit and more predictable. One of several reasons why I went with 18" track wheels.

This comes from Best Motoring, a japanese series with the best videos for car enthusiasts for sure. They use to sell the DVDs here translated to English (I have all of them) but not anymore. They do amazing features, always using profesional drivers. They may be a little (or sometimes a lot!) bias towards japanese cars.

It's actually an oldie but goodie, I'm kind of surprised that many haven't seen it before. I have the DVD myself.

Gan-san maybe a legend, but his personality is kind of drab. I much prefer Tsuchiya-san (aka the drift king or dori dori); he's a funny guy, full of personality, and he loves the ladies. But sadly he's not in this episode.

The 18" rims may be ideal for the 997.1 S, but PASM 2 in the 997.2 S was optimized for 19" rims.

+1 fan of Tsuchiya, the drift king. He is very funny with his japanese sense of humour. And his driving skills are incredible, really. If you haven't, try to see "The Drift Bible"

I know of the Drift Bible dvd, but have never bothered to watch it. Just not that into drifting myself.

For those who may not have seen this one, it's the Best Motoring episode with the 997.2 cars. Tsuchiya is driving the yellow C2S. All the Porsches have PDK. Hattori, who drove the red Carrera in the 997.1 battle, is driving the C4S that rockets away at the start. The poor Nismo 370Z is no match for any of the 911s. Kind of like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
