I just picked up a new black/black 2009 C2S with/PDK. First off - I love the car. This is my second 997, before I switched back to a 993 for a while. I loved the 993, but the 997 had more power, better feel, and frankly, 13 years of progress makes for a car that is nicer for a daily driver as well as one that is trackable.

Anyway my problem: I was driving up to NH yesterday and noticed that when the car is in 7th gear the RPMs bounce around a bit. It is almost like the engine is hunting. This typically occurs around 2000 RPMs, bouncing down or up a notch. At first I though it was me, but then I dropped it to 6th and the RPMs were stabile. I was not running with cruise as I never use that feature.

I have hunted through the forums looking for this, so if I missed it, I apologize.

Doesn't sound right. I'd take it in and have it checked out. Does it do that in M or only in D?

 

Agree with Steve, if anything mine is too eager to go to 7th and I have to downshift sometimes.

 

No issues with mine in 7th. I actually hardly ever use that gear - too tall. But checked it out today - RPM's were stable. I generally use M or Auto sport. It only shifts into 7th at high 70's I believe.

I am always in 7th and don't notice it move much. I like in 7th as soon as you touch gas more it drops to 6 instantly.
