Default Immobilizer/ alarm

I was wondering if my 2005 997 Carrera has a factory preinstalled alarm or immobilizer. Is it standard on these cars or part of an option?

Yes, at least the US models. You can read all about it in the Owners Manual.

Wish I had my owners manual... seems it went missing after one of those visits to the local dealer...

Get another one (easy) or a PDF version from renntech.org (easier).

I keep a printed out copy in the house, and the regular one in the glove box.
