Default Front Tires: What's the most mileage anyone has got

I'm just curious what the highest mileage anyone has got out of their front tires? Has anyone got over 30k?

I suppose 20k miles. If the same tire type is used, fronts are replaced half as much as rears, and rears last about 10k miles.

On my C2S: 14K the first set and 9.4K the second set. I sold the car before I needed a third set of fronts.
On my GT3: 3.3K on the first set.

31,144 on my original Bridgestones. (Just put some rears on at about 44,000 miles so my rears go in about 13,000.)

I traded in my '08 C2 with about 22K miles. It still had original RE050's, front and rear. Rears still had a couple of thousand miles left in them - fronts looked like they still had a long way to go. Based on the usual 2-to-1 equation, the fronts should have been good for 30K or more. Driving was mostly city and freeway, with a 20 mile mountain road (up and back) a couple of times a month.

Let's see, my rear PS2's lasted about 4k miles; hence, I can safely deduce that my fronts are good for about 10k miles.

I'm at 19.6k right now for the fronts and there is plenty of meat left. The rears are about 50% on my second set..when these go I'm moving on to something else.

dan - i think you need to start carrying more speed into the turns and moderate your throttle steering

I'm almost embarrassed to report that my front original Continentals have 37000 mi on them. Have new Contis in garage ready to put on.

Forgot to add that most of those miles were interstate driving.

6000 miles. Summer tires: Rears pretty much bald, fronts with about 20% left. But I am currently on my snows! (90% left) Ha!

I think with this thread, moreso than any other I have ever read, tells us about the various driving styles of the posters

I think it tells who has biggest amount of toe on their cars. Get new alignment with front toe set to 0 and rear to .1 and your tires will last much longer.

That would be great advice if the goal were to maximize tire longevity. I prefer a darty alignment that has the car sharply turn in almost before I tell it to. That handling quirk is worth more to me than avoiding trips to the tire shop.
