Default Changed 997.2 PSE tips

I am a newbie and this is my first post. Getting ready to replace my sadly missed Carrera 3.2 with a 997S.

I searched the forums and found many on how much people hate the new PSE tips. Today I was on Porsche configurator (atleast once a week) and to my excitment I noticed Porsche changed the image of the PSE tips to the old 997.1 tips. Has Porsche really listened and changed the tips back or is the web site wrong? I would have placed this in the other forums but to many to post too. Thanks

V/r

Interesting - the picture of the PSE tips on the configerator is definitely moified. Worth checking - it wouldn't have been changed for no reason.

PSE tips look the same to me, sport tips are new, instead of regular tips.

The pic of the PSE tips off the Porsche site appears below. The drawing may not capture the angled cutaway look exactly, but to me they look pretty much like the tips that are on my 2009 PSE equipped car; a matte silver outer surround with flat back inner extensions. I actually like the look, but I get it that many others don't. Anyway, I don't think they've changed much if at all.

I read a lot on this forum about the 997.2 exhaust-tips. The picture above is the first time I've seen what you are all talking about. Well, 997.2 cars here in the UK do NOT have those extraordinary-looking tips; no wonder there is a scramble for replacements. Ours are slightly different to 997.1 tips but nothing like those and not that you'd notice.

I guess this is another case - like the orange side indicator glass that US markets get - of slight differences in standard spec for USA.

I think PSE tips are the same everywhere. I saw the exact same tips in Frankfurt Auto show... so I think UK ones you mentioned are the non-PSE tips.

The tips in the photo are not on all 997.2 cars in the states, only those with the optional Porsche Sport Exhaust. You've seen PSE equipped cars in the UK and they have different exhaust tips from PSE equipped US cars? If that were true, it would be easy enough for people who were put off by them to order UK spec PSE tips, just like many of us in the US order Euro spec clear side markers after purchase. BTW, the orange side markers are due to U.S. Department of Transportation requirements, not Porsche's choice.
