Default Leather Console & Seat Reupholstery

I had the occasion to reupholster a set of seats and add leather to the center console for a 997.
Its done in Porsche Cocoa leather which is sort of a mottled brown color.
The French seams on the console are the same pattern as found on the factory piece.
While I now have the pattern for this style seat, I had to use the binding strips from the old set to complete the new ones. Since I can't find the correct size bindings at any of my suppliers I will need the old covers in order to make the kit for these seats.

The kit would run $1700 for the front, $900 for the rear. Installation is $300 for the front and $200 for the rear.
To add leather to the console, $600

Nice work. Can you match any of the standard Porsche colors for a 997 (such a stone gray)?

I don't get it. Why would a car so new need to have the seats reupholstered?

The pic of the center console doesn't look like it's Cocoa, is it just the lighting?

I have a Cocoa interior and wouldn't mind getting my rear center console done in leather. Only problem is it's a hassle to remove and would need to be shipped over.

The seats were 5 years old maybe 6 depending on the month it was made. Hardly new for a Porsche interior.

True but I've never seen Porsche leather wear significantly in short order. My car is 5 and the leather looks new. As do all the other 997s I've seen.

Thanks. What is the turn-around time for doing a console?

The typical wear areas are the driver side bolster and seat cushion (as on mine).

There's a lot of variables when it comes to wear on an interior. Climate, care, etc.

Right now, 3-4 weeks. It gets longer as spring approaches.

Have you ever re-finished the PCM face on a 997 with leather? If so, would like to see photos.

Agree. I actualy like how leather looks when it ages, but at 4 yrs, 25K miles, mine looks almost new. I could see someone wanting this if they somehow damaged a seat -- e.g., by having something sharp in their pocket. Over time, I'm sure leather will wear out on higher mileage cars, ones kept outside without proper care, etc.
