Hi everyone. New member. Just bought a 2007 S. Picture to come. Came out of a Z06 (which I loved - so no bashing!) but needed something more refined for my daily driver.

Love the car! My last p car was a 1983 SC. Clearly a different car, but amazed at how the driving dynamics and over all "feel" of the older 911's are still recognizable in the 997. Nicely done Porsche. History and tradition ARE important!

Question: (no snickering please) what does the 997.X mean? Do I have a 997.2?

 

You've got the 997.1

I believe the .1 and .2 are Porsche nomenclature to differentiate between the 2005-2008 997 and the 2009+ which have DFI.

 

Welcome and congrats! The .2 refers to the refresh and technical improvements of the 997 model. Your '07 would be a 997.1.
