Default Battery Tender for a 2006 C2S Cab

Hi Everyone,

Hope you excuse my naiveté, I would like to get a battery tender for my winter storage of my Porsche. When I went to the battery tender website there was many to choose from. Not sure what I would need and what would be best.

It will only be for the porsche if that helps.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Any battery maintainer will work just fine.

I have the basic one from Porsche -- I believe it was $75.00 or so.

My dad just bought a Die Hard from Sears this weekend for
his STS (as it sits all winter long) for $22.00.
I'm sure that would work just fine for a P-Car as well.

The one to get on the battery tender website would be the Battery Tender Plus or you can get the CTEK Multi US 3300 from CTEK. Both are top notch battery tenders. I own both.

That's what I've been using for years.

Basic Porsche one or Sears. Used them both without issues. The Sears one is a charger/maintainer/starter while the porsche one is a maintainer only.

Not the one we're referring to:

Ended up buying one from Sears. Quick question. The car has a negative grounded battery no?

Yes, negative ground...

Not sure what connections you got with the sears maintainer, but the Porsche unit has a cigarette lighter plug in, which is always hot.....

If you are connecting directly to the battery -ve is black, and +ve is red.....marked on the battery. Sorry, I don't want to insult your intelligence if you already knew this, but safer than sorry!!

Is it a maintainer? Does it control charging current and float the battery in a controlled way? I only recommend the OEM units, or Battery Tender, or CTek.

The one I purchased said it can be used to maintain a car battery. It's fully automatic operation.

If it's this one, it's the same one I've been using for years. You can use the clamps attachment to maintain a battery that's sitting on a shelf or use the cig lighter adapter for easy connection, which is how most people use it. I've used them for years and I certainly recommend it. And for 20 bucks now with a full 3 yr free replacement warranty, you can't go wrong. Just make sure you hold on to your receipt. I had one go out on me close to the end of the 3yr warranty and I took it to the nearest Sears outlet with my receipt and they gave me a new one on the spot.

Oh, this one only works on coupes.

I have the Ctek 3000 and it works great. Plug it into spare 12 V outlet in the passenger side footwell.
