2850 miles....
Below are a couple of photos, of my oil level after 2850 miles (no usage) and the exhaust tips (no soot to speak of).
The car was broken in pretty much per the manual, with rev increases brought on gradually in 500 rpm increments over the the break in period, except for the inadvertent slip.
I have not babied or abused the car in any way, and the mileage includes four Autobahn days (light track use!), lots of city and freeway driving; and I have only used Chevron gas.
The sport exhaust keeps getting better and better too, and with PDK it delights! The double shifts with the blipping!!!!
All in all it is looking like I have a "recreational" oil user instead of an "abuser", and the engine is burning very clean.

Just added my first .5 quart this weekend at 1400 miles, will have to see how it goes from here.
Wow your tailpipes are clean - mine have soot, although not more than a dusting. Have used some Shell gas but am trying to stay with Chevron now.
On break-in - mine has seen moderate acceleration, increasing the revs to the now high point of 6K.

Looks good. I have std tips (no PSE) have 1400 miles. Ran it by the book for the first 1000 miles. On it a little more now - very occassional foray to 6K. Whats the deal with Chevron gas? Not complaining as I'm a shareholder (CVX). Its frustrating keeping the revs down. This is a great car.
I'm thinking of the PSE upgrade - want to have the switch. Sounds like you are happy with it.

Initially I was a little ambivalent about the PSE upgrade (versus my experience with the 997.1) but now I am an advocate, it is awesome.
I have to say since I added the PSE , the car seems to run a lot freer (placebo effect?... I wondered about that, but I dismissed it after the "cacophony" at Infineon yesterday, which took me by surprise).
I don't know that there is any "deal" with Chevron, it is just what I use. I also like Union 76, but those stations are not as close to me.
I am providing the information as a data point, and YMMV.

Re. PSE performance? Yes placebo as it adds no measurable gains as per PAG.
