Default What MODS would you perform first on your 997?

I have an 09 997.2 and have been looking at adding a few mods to my car.
Currently in the running are the following:

TechArt Front Spoiler for 997.2
TechArt Side Skirts

I would also like an exhaust that provides the ability to turn off and on with the sport button like the PSE.
If anyone knows of something similiar please chime in.

Thanks in Advance.

Sign up for an HPDE and don't bolt any of that goofy plastic **** to your car. There's an event at Texas World Speedway on Nov 7/8 and there's still space available.

I would get front Porshe Motor Sports lower controls arms and rear toe links.

Probably around $2000 for all installed and aligned.

I would then work on my driving.

+1 What he said.
The 997 is a great car just the way it is.
Personally, I think those aftermarket side skirts look bizarre and I don't think they offer any performance advantage except for decreasing the car's weight when they fall off.

Local PCA DE or PSDS are the best mods you can do to any p-car!

Add the Sharkwerks center muffler by pass. you gain great sound yet retaining the quiet cabin at cruise. Approximately 10 hp and you reduce weight in the far rear and low by 10 lbs a plus, plus, plus and easy to install. Additionally since you retain the primary mufflers and the cats there normally is no warranty issues.

Stay away from the cosmetics and concentrate on performance and most importantly attend a few HPDE's.

Default My first mod - Personalized tag.

Personalised tag - MARITIME complete, see first picture
Clear side-markers - complete, see next picture

Dension IPhone in - installing Tuesday
Dension Bluetooth - installing Tuesday
H&R spacers - next up
Seat backs, body color 2010
Exhaust, lighter, better sound - Sharkwerks sounds good, excuse the pun.
I'd like to paint some interior trim in Maritime but want to keep it tasteful, haven't decided yet.

I also keep my upgrades to the "easy to reverse" type.
But I do also intend to run a DE soon, I've yet to run one in this car, I bet it's way different to my Boxster!

Bruce--nice job! Too bad Turquoise is too many letters. So, I have to settle with TWO whaletails on the back of my Carrera.

+1 as well.

Driver improvement is the best performance enhancement.

For looks, get rid of the visor airbag stickers, and hardwire the V1 to the dome light harness.

Don't get your comment. I have the Sharkwerks center muffler by pass pipe on an '09 C2S not a GT3. I would also strongly endorse a drivers school as a great investment. A PCA sponsored DE or better yet the Porsche Sport Driving School money well spent and you explore the capabilities of your car will improving your skills in driving it.

Default Keep it stock

Must keep it stock.... that is what I did. Modding adds no value and in many ways decreases the value of the car here is my stock 997:

I would do coil overs to start IMO....seen many gt3 front noses that look nice... as well

Default disagree

Sorry but could not disagree more.... true performance parts that add any actual noticable gains will be a lot of $$$$$$.....plus possible impact warranties. These cars are plenty fast in most buyers hands.... unless your a tarined driver even a stock none S 997.....but lacking bigtime in the cosmetic area IMO. If you actually care what your car looks like (umm hope thats Ok to want your car to look better and more unique then stock) and don't want it to look like you just leased it for 36 months, then mod away on the exterior....

But do agree in attending some driving events....

Used to do aero. And then I grew up. First thing I do is suspension(coilovers and new linkages), followed by a proper aggressive alignment. Exhaust is next and then I order and wait for wheels.
