This is a terrible necro and I apologize. I own a 2009 E89 Z4 and am hoping to buy one of the listed license plate frames. I was wondering if anyone knows if the bolts are interchangeable between the Porsche's this is designed for and my BMW?
Where would I go to find the spec on the recovery hook for a modern Porsche onto which this can be fit? I can go measure mine and take a gamble on if it will work. Thank you!

The outfit (Mower Deck Axle Co.) that makes frames to mount to the tow hook point on a Porsche also makes models specifically for BMW. Check them out.
Larry has taken care of several tow hook mounts for me over the past 13 years. I was fortunate to acquire an 11 year old C2 that had a clean slate on the front bumper and glad to be able to keep it that way.
I have always used the Rennline tow hook mounts - excellent quality : Rennline Tow Hook Receiver, Billet License Plate Mount, USA Style

We don't use front license plates down here but upon reading through this post, the installation using the tow hook not only looks like crap but by being "off center", it just looks weird!
One option being presented here (https://skenebrackets.com/), is much more elegant and does away with the offset "weirdness". In my humble opinion It should be a no brainer to go this route.
I ditched my tow hook plate mount because it was prone to loosening and would tilt off level after a couple of weeks. Replaced it with small 90 degree stainless steel brackets from Home Depot and attached to the underside of the center intake similar to the skenebrackets. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...4529/203339958
