Default Replacing storage lid cover

Has anyone replaced the rear console storage lid cover in their 997? The 997's lid looks like it has a cover attached to it, unlike the 996's which is one-piece. If the cover can be easily removed without disassembling the actual lid from the hinge, then I'd like to replace it with a leather one from Suncoast:

The description says it's a direct replacement with no modifications, but I'd like to hear from those who've actually done this.

It looks like the lid cover is held in place with 8 Torx screws that can be accessed by opening the console lid. See step 27 of the MAcarbon center console install instructions which can be found at a link here:

I'd give it a shot.

I replaced mine with carbon fiber and it was 8 little screws and your done.
