Default SmartTop question

I've seen in a number of threads that many cab owners have the SmartTop and are very happy with the functions it adds and/or enhances.

Just wondered if anyone had a issue with the dealer and warranty service with one installed? Do you always put it into it's invisible mode when you bring it in for warranty service?

Just planning on participating in a group buy for one over here - http://tinyurl.com/yedr2j4 and wondered if anyone had issues.

Thanks

I never had any issues when I had mine, and my dealer definitely knew about the SmartTop. The invisible mode is a nice option to have, I guess, but I never used that feature.

I think the SmartTop is great. I'm really pissed that we have to spend that much for features that SHOULD have been in the car in the first place.

I have a smart top on my cab. When I took the car in for service I forgot to put the smart top into invisible mode. Never heard a peep from the service department.

Maybe that is indicative of how thorough your dealer "service" was.

Actually, I think the main reason for invisible mode is to avoid messing up readings on electronic analysers used by dealer.

My service department is aware of it. It doesn't create an issue for them. It's probably the best mod for a 997 cabriolet!
