Hey Damon
I have 7mm front and 14mm on my 986 Boxster, looks great.
What is the suggested set up on a 997.1 C2 Coupe? 7mm & 15mm? Any larger?

What's up with spacer sizes? My manual and the Tequipment guide says my car/wheels can use 5mm to widen the track. That's not even a 1/4 inch - seems that it would be barely noticeable.
The larger 17mm spacers are recommended to compensate for wheel offset with the listed application as making NB wheels (ET 67) fit WB cars (ET 51) - even that is only 5/8 of an inch - maybe noticeable (I guess it would be on a WB car without them).
I think I'd like a wider track look, but seems like $$$ for 5mms (spacers and bolts/installation) and for a difference I may not be able to see - or am I wrong?
Thanks for any insight.

Your thoughts on this are very similar to mine. I’ve been studying this for some time now and I think the 5mm spacers will be a bit too conservative for my particular tastes. At present, I’m leaning toward the 7mm/15mm setup noted by the OP.
Hope some members will chime in and share their insights on the advantages and disadvantages of such a configuration.

I've been thinking about the 7mm/15mm spacers for my car too, but what happens with the locking wheel nut if you go with the larger bolts for the spacers? Presumably the larger bolts mean you no longer have the locking wheel nut? Also, I am running 305's out back on my stock lobster forks, anyone know I there may be any rubbing issued with the 15mm rear spacer due to the slightly wider rubber?

the factory offsets are goofy conservative!
I'm running 7/15 mm H&R spacers and longer 19mm flange head bolts - they look great, but you will lose the locking bolts. 15 seems a hair too wide, would recommend 14mm and definitely NOT 17mm
Warning - the fronts are a PITA to mount as the spacers don't have an additional flange! No ill side effects at all w/r/t ride.
Damon from Tire RACK did a great job of supplying them quickly at a great price

I have 7 & 15 mm from FVD on my 05 Boxster S - looks great. Changing front wheels is a little challenging as most of the flange is consumed by the spacer - not a deal breaker though. FVD in FL is great to work with and prices are very competitive.

OK I'll make some calls next week, see if a group buy can be arranged.
The censuses seems to be 5 in the front and 15 in the rear. FYI, FVD don't list a 14.
FYI you will loose locking bolt.

The Porsche catalog shows a set of bolts with the spacers and one is locking - unless the photo is of the wrong parts.

Steve, yes if you buy through Porsche you can specify locking bolts ($$$). Does Porsche offer anything longer than 5mm, I don't know?

As with any aftermarket modification or addition, I would be very careful in regards to the factory warranty. Porsche is looking for any reason to void a specific warranty repair. It would behoove you to go with the factory original bits (and maybe even have the dealer or agency install them, IN THIS CASE).
Having said that, I have no problem with proper and limited wheel spacing that's within reason.
