You can use the control lever to get out of that screen and the oil level measurement will come back to the front.

Although I agree that the safety regs are a bit much. The worst is that in Dodge cars you can't use the Sat Nav at all while driving even if a passenger is the one using it.

I agree - how can we have proper evolution if we make it mandatory, thru safty regs, that everyone gets a leg up on survival? The game is rigged.

Same is true of Toyota and Lexus. At least a lockpick exists that can be installed to overide this idiocy, but its a bit of a pain to put in.

Learn how to use that lower left stalk,--will solve a lot of problems for you.

Concur that some other car's implementation of navigation systems is ridiculous,--where you can't be moving when you are inputing a destination, for example. In a friend's LandCruiser the other day I was amazed that even with a passenger in the car you had to be in Park to input that stuff. Nuts.

It's thanks to all the lawyers in this country,--don't have anyone else to blame.

Actually probably more due to the people here who want to sue at the drop of a hat making someone else responsible for their actions and decisions... they are the ones hiring the lawyers.
Is the culture that us as residents have developed.. and affects everything we do from car "design features" to health care costs

Right - can't really blame this on the lawyers - we bring this on ourselves. And by "we", I mean "them" - the people who need to be natually selected against.

If there is any silver lining is that it might prevent some teenager in a Dodge from slamming into the rear of our Porsche because they were consumed changing the navigational map to 3D.

Yes and no.

The lawyers only utilize the laws that are on the books.

The laws need to change (tort reform) so that people start being responsible for their own stupid behavior and stop getting cash payouts in excess of actual medical cost for actual injuries suffered. We do need politicians that stand up to the tort lawyer lobby that benefits nicely off of collecting 1/2 of a multi-million dollar settlement of some moron getting their neck squeezed in a sunroof or dumping hot coffee in their laps.

Craig, just flip the lever again and the oil count down comes back on. You do not need to put the seat belt on while checking the oil.
