how is this possible?
when i picked it up the ODO was 77 and trip meter 79.7
idk why someone would roll back 2.7, so just curious how this could possibly happen.. do they read in different places and something drove 2.7 miles before the other was plugged in? (like during assembly?)

The trip can be reset by anyone at any time.
You could put 10,000 miles on the car, reset the trip, drive it 2.7 miles to the underworld shop, have the odo reset to zero and drive it 77 more miles.

im with you... i know theres no funny business.. im simply asking how that could have happened... the most logical answer i have at the time was its 2.7 miles around the factory and the speedo was plugged in at the end.. or well. 2.7 miles after the tires hit the floor?

There was a thread a while ago about the mileage on the trip computer exceeding the ODO as well, suggesting some inaccuracy and probably multiple sources (gps vs cable to the transaxle?) unreconciled.
Surprising to see it as you have it shown; can't offer a good conjecture.
