You need a smart top to be able to do this. It is a rather expensive add-on for a feature that should have been programmed into the existing electronics.

This also gets remote open. A really nice feature to let all the heat out of the car as you walk up to it.

Stevepow, Rijowysock,
You are welcome "downunder" but it costs another US$ 80k for the 997.2 with all the gizmos

Yikes - I'll just hold the damn button until the roof closes.

997.2 Reset process in case anyone is looking...

...what works in my car:

1 - close the sliding roof
2 - hold the forward/close button (referred to as Rocker Switch B in the manual) for several seconds / don't release it
3 - the sliding roof will go through an opening / closing / sliding sequence that ends with it closed.

2009 C2S 174K miles

Good information. Thanx!

Two questions:

1) Why is a reset necessary?
2) If one-button auto-close is a regional thing, then I should be able to set this via my Durametric.... anyone know where this feature resides in software?

Peace
