Default Monterey Historics Races

I attended the Saturday session at the Monterey Historics. It was a great day, seeing many exciting cars, displays and great people.

Porsche had a strong presence exhibiting several cars flown in from the Porsche Museum, including their F1 car, a 550 Spyder, a special RS60, a 917, a 996GT1, and an RS Spyder among others. The exhibit was staffed with key personnel from Stuttgart, including Klaus Bischof (the Porsche Museum director and the 917 program manager). Porsche Motorsport had an intersting exhibit displaying the 911 RSR, a 917 space frame and an RSR flat-6 that they were disassembling and reassembling in real-time.

Brumos Porsche had a strong presence too, displaying various cars. Star driver attarctions were Hurley Haywood and Jerry Seinfeld.

The races were great. I particularly enjoyed Group 7A 1964-1971 FIA Mfg Championship and IMSA GTP car, including the 917/917K stars.

My photo collection covering this event can be seen HERE.

Great job on the photos (especially the Panamera and the "other" one), you have talent!

Thanks, Tony, for being on the scene in Monterey! You have a special skill with your camera! (I really love this shot you did of mine the other day).
