Default "Service now" indicator

Just traded my '02 C4 on a new '08 C4 with 200 miles on it. When I start the engine, "service now" flashes for maybe five seconds and then goes away. Is this normal? Thanks.

Just take it back to the dealer and have them reset it. The computer keeps track of time and mileage but there's no need to change the oil at 200 miles on a brand new car.

Indicator also keyed by time, if its an '08 with 200 miles its been sitting for a year.
