I like to keep the revs around 4K+ to have the immediate responsiveness available, so generally I keep it in 6th on the highway.

I usually am in 5th gear till I hit 70mph, depending on the rpm's. If I am in 6th gear, I have to be going at least 80mph+. My opinion is not to baby my pcar but to run it to it's limits. Go for it!!!!

I am in 4th until around 60-65. I try out 6th once a month to make sure I have not lost it due to lack of use....GR

Must be that the 4S doesn't get as good gas mileage due to the larger displacement, heavier, and awd system. I don't think I've ever seen 25 mpg. And I have reset the numbers once on the highway.

I think the car is only rated for 25 mpg.

Maybe a 2009 C2 with PDK could get to 30?

My wife's 2004 BWM 330i with a 3.0L straight 6 gets 30 mpg. I wouldn't expect that here.

I "draft" behind other cars and use neutral.....that gives me amazing fuel economy.!!

My experience exactly. Last year on a trip from LA to Vancouver, I never got more than 25 mpg while driving entirely on the interstate. The only way it would be higher is if the majority of the trip were downhill!

Even in 6th at highway speed there's plenty of power and torque. As to the MPG, that's the difference between DFI and non. I too am getting fantastic mileage with my 09 C2S. I don't bother to reset, but my 1300 mile average (plenty of street, might be 50/50) is 23 MPG. With my 07 C2S and the same driving patterns, I was averaging maybe 19-20 city/highway.

30+ mpg on non-DFI 997 is difficult to believe. Is this a 3.6 liter engine figure or something? My C2S never seen anything past the teens. Granted I didn't reset my PCM and drive on the hwy, but I doubt I will get near DOUBLE the mpg by doing so.

So tell me, what is the trick?

The car it happened to me in was the 996 GT3. I dont remember looking at the gas milage in the 997 GT3
and this is my first C2S.
I was going flat across the desert at night in 6th gear getting 30mpg.
