That means the in-service date was 7/05. What was the manufacture date? It should be stamped on the placard inside the driver's door.

Reviving this thread with a related question. I have a 03 996 that has had the RMS and IMS seals replaced twice, the last time being in December, 4K miles ago just as CPO warranty was ready to expire. The last fixes were covered under the warranty. I now have a leak that is likely one or both of the seals replaced under warranty. I thought the next repair (I've been expecting it) for this was on my dime. What do you think?
