Default 997 Prices Falling

I have noticed in the last couple of weeks, the prices of 997's
starting to take a drop.

I think the prices will continue to fall after the 4th of July as people
who wanted a 997 have one, and others have decided not purchase.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Oh . . . . So you think they'll be no more buyers after July 4th. Think about what you just wrote.

Prices will continue to fall until the world wide economy gets moving (positive direction) again. I'd say off hand it won't happen until early/mid 2010 barring any more economic chaos.

It's a buyers market right now on anything . . . . Porsche cars included. If you've been planning on buying a Porsche now is a good time; a better time might be toward year end.

Can you give any data or provide examples?

I have no data--simply observations.

The Fourth ogf July is typically regarded as the peak of summer;
and just like with boat sales, summer car purchasing
does begin to dwindle.

I am not referencing the current state of the economy; simply
the time of year.

what was crazy was after lent... my friend works at porsche and had no sales.. easter comes and next day things were selling like hot cakes..

goes to show you cant really apply a theory to sales, but instead just sit back and let time pass..

I think this will be true for the case for Cabriolets.

Owning a P-Car is still a better investment, albeit a depreciating asset,
than owning a lot of other quickly dropping investments; and the best
part is you get to drive it.

This would have been a much better thread if you would have clarified. Used 997's? 2006 roll outs?
2007's with PCCBs's Turbos? NEW 997.2's? 997 GT2's? 997 MkI C4S's? USED 997MkII C2S with PDK?
Drop tops just before as summer gets going? Where did you see the drop? Manhiem? On Lots? At the Porsche Dealer? CPO's? Autotrader?
Really not much info here

In my neck of the woods CPO inventory is dropping and prices are rising.

It is a car so it depreciates and we're in a recession. Of course prices are dropping.

No offense to OP but he's just pointing out the obvious.

Nope and with respect, unless I were planning on selling (I'm not) or buying (I'm not) I couldn't care less.

Cars are **** investments. Expensive cars are usually even ****tier investments. I bought my 911 to drive. As long as it continues to make me happy doing that... I'm good.
