Default Openining fog housings

I bought a fog light housing on ebay in order to experiment with but I can't take it apart. I tried the oven and a heat gun but the silicone will not melt. The housing begins to melt way before the silicone. I know IA and Evo have installed turbo leds so It must be possible to do it. Anyone know how they did it? Any ideas? I bought an led strip that I want to install in it which could look really cool but I just can't open the damn thing.

Have you been able to locate the occasional spot welds that are used to hold it together? I'm assuming they're merely spot plastic welds as stuff gets in there (bugs) occasionally. Full seam sealing wouldn't allow that.

Since you bought that spare one to practice on, I would take a saw to it and plan on destroying it in the process. Once you get a part of it apart, you make learn how often they have plastic-welded it (perhaps every few centimeters).
