Default Porsche 997.2 OEM Muffler Issue. **Please Read.**

Even with all of their engineers, money, and resources, the factory still has problems from time to time.

"There is the possibility of excessive clamping force on the clamps on the front muffler increasing the force of vibrations on the exhaust system. As a result, it is possible that the exhaust pipes on the rear mufflers can crack on vehicles with high mileage. "

See here for the full TSB #W913.

Wow, that was quick. Good argument for buying a Primary Bypass, eh?

Thanks for posting that, my March 2009 build seems to be in the affected group.

The PSE mufflers were replaced under warranty (including the tips) on my 06 3.8. They had developed cracks. Could have been welded up.

Already notified by dealer after recent fuel pump failure and replacement to bring car back in for scheduled muffler bracket fix once they get the parts.

Checked with my dealer after finding my VIN is included in the range of affected vehicles. He checked the Porsche site and entered my VIN and says my car is NOT included in this campaign.
I guess some are affected and some are not.
I do have PSE and that might be the reason.
