Don't tell me you're teaching him to wash the car in the sun???? Child abuse.

thank you for all the kind remarks, they bring a smile to my face

My 3 year old grandson already knows the answer when I ask him "what is the best car in the world?" -
He says "Porsche"

the one yr old seems to like CHOCOLATE better!

In a world where it's become normal for fathers to be absent from a child's life, it is very refreshing to see your love for your grandkids. We, men, need to take more responsibility as fathers and as husbands. Without a doubt, the most important figure in my life was my grandfather. I made it this far on the simple lessons he passed on to me and the love that I always knew was there. He passed away when I was very young, but there are few days that go by that I don't think of him. I hope that the two little buggers realize what a cool granddad they have.

For whatever reason, I always used to help my dad wash the cars. It is perhaps the thing I miss most. Ten years gone, and I miss him like yesterday.

oh boy, did you open a discussion;

for me it was my grandmother. she simply would not allow failure. it was a series of lessons for a very young man that lasted a lifetime! she was such a profound influence. when times are tough, i still imagine her there, urging me along with a balance of love and determination.

today's parents are pretty much derelicts. no offense to those who are not, but look at our schools and Society. prima facie evidence. most outsource their children's most important lessons.

sadly Mal, you'd better teach him forbearance and self-reliance too. he's of the population who's going to need it!

I'm on my second trip around and think I have learned some lessons along the way, so I am trying to train the young ones up right!
