Default West -- Central Valley -- Road Trip

Just back from another road trip into the inner valleys of California. First, we stopped off for a quick visit to the Dean shrine in Cholame (Rt 46/41) east of Paso Robles.

The Best Western hotel in Sonora REALLY took good care of us,--including a wash rack!

Parking in Sonora was restricted to PORSCHES, only! And,--in Sutter Creek, as well!

Okay, Dan....your blue car with that blue "open garage" that has to become a classic picture. Just when I thought I had seeing it all. BTW, do you know if it comes in red?

Great pics...your buddy's RUF has to be the ultimate badass Cayman in Cali.

I used to live in Sutter Creek and it never looked like that! How did you manage to get all the weekend tourists from Sacto to move their cars?

Having lived in Sacto for awhile, I too was surprised that we had so much of the parking to ourselves. I just think we were early enough and with the downturned economy there are less coming up to the Gold Country.

When we arrived at the hotel the place had set up a wash rack for us, complete with hose and that shade device in the event we were there during the peak hours (sun directly overhead) and needed it,--when we first arrived it was 92ºF out!

A few took advantage of the hose and my room happened to be close to that cover,--so I took advantage of it, parking the first night under it,--and with my car cover on, no less! (I figured SOMEBODY should take advantage of it!)

Great time, great photos. The new Cayman S looks very aggressive in photo 4 coming up the road, like the color too.

Thanks for the photos! I don't think of myself as a colorful person, but everytime I see Dan's car, it makes me wish I had opted for a vibrant color. That turquoise blue is stunning!
