OK, so does anyone have a clear cutt solution to the clutch pedal squeak that some have with their 997s? The squeaking just drives me crazy and i have taken it in twice, with the dealer taking it apart and lubbing it up. Still squeaks.
If this is normal, it is totally unacceptable and pissing me off. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION?????
Sorry, just a lil fed up now.

It's a Porsche poltergeist, Vinny.
Buy some incense, pinch a couple of mugs of holy water from your local church and get a Catholic priest in; he will do an OEM exorcism (it's not covered by warranty unless you took the 'spirit-added' option) for about $79.99 and that squeak will vanish.
God bless.

It may be the clutch power spring that is causing the squeak. You could remove the spring to see if that is, in fact, the source of the offending sound. If you decide to remove the spring, be warned that the clutch pedal will feel much stiffer without the "helper" spring.
If the spring is the source of the sound there may not be much that can be done to eliminate the squeak.

Sounds familiar. Had the clutch master cylinder replaced twice under warranty for same issue. Dealer claims it's because I use ATE blue, going with Porsche brake fluid now for a season to see if I manage to avoid the same squeak.

Vinny, despite my 'poltergeist' answer earlier, I actually had an audible click on depress/release of the clutch. It went away but NOW IT'S BACK!!!
Serves me right, huh?

My old '06 C2S clutch used to squeak and click. One day when it was cold out I went to start it up and when I pushed the clutch down I heard a "ping". The clutch went from fine the day before to slipping so bad it was almost undriveable. $2k later I had a new clutch. Porsche did not cover it under warranty.

Where is the squeak coming from? The inside or the outside of the car. If it's coming from the outside of the car, towards the back you might have a problem. What is the mileage of your car? Does it only squeak when the car is hot? More information could help us determine the problem!!!!

Just jumping in here. I have a noise coming from the rear underside of the car when I let out the clutch from a stop. It's a harmonic type metal on metal noise. It almost sounds like something needs to be lubed. Clutch performance is perfect(18k miles). Just a 2-3 second noise as you let 1st out from a complete stop. Only happens when it's hot and the car has been driven for a while. I'm going to take it in, but I'd love some opinions from you guys...
Thanks.
Thanks.

OK, I have a 2005 997 6-speed with 10k miles. Here's what happened to my car. I took it to the dealer saying that the clutch squeaked when the car was warm. They lubed the clutch helper spring on the inside. Took the car home and it still squeaked. I determined myself the noise was coming from the transmission bellhousing. I took it back the dealer and they sourced the problem to the Pressure plate. All I can say is that my dealer is awesome. They replaced the clutch, flywheel, and release bearing ALL UNDER WARRANTY. If I had to pay for this it would have been major. I don't want to spread fear here, I am just telling you guy's my situation. I think it's funny when you seen 997's for cheap, off warranty, with major mileage. These cars are not cheap to maintain. Small problems can turn into major $$$. Maybe your situation maybe different than mine. Good luck.

I had a clutch pedal squeak on my Cayman S and it turned out to be my throwout fork. While they were in the tranny my Tech checked the pressure plate and it was wearing un-evenly so they replaced the whole clutch... Problems gone!
