Default High Oil Temp

Has anyone seen high oil temp in 997.2 running in auto PDK? Running at highway speed in straight auto the needle is stuck at 200. At Sebring in auto Sport Plus temp was up around 260-270. There were no warning lights and the temps cooled down relatively fast.

Just returned from two track days in my 09 C2S, Pdk, Sport Chrono and sport suspension. Cool, 55 degree weather but drove hard, oil temp reached 220 max. Burned no oil.

Norman, nice meeting you at Sebring. I kept looking for you on the track and could not find you. I was in the Red group...what group were you running in???

On the street my car too runs at 200 which is perfectly normal...you do want to burn off the water in the oil....on the track I was at 250 to a shade over 250.

I did run PDK in Sport Chrono Plus AUTO mode for some laps and it is crazy at how perfectly it downshift almost when you think it should. I did find I could pick my shifts a little better in manual mode though.

Mike,
It was nice meeting you as well. I was running in the Blue group. I might make it to Red with a little more time in the new car. It is a completely different experience (in a good way) from the GT3. When you say "burn off the water in the oil" what do you mean and how do you accomplish that feat? I have been doing a little investigating on the outside and it appears these cars (PDK) can run hot, but if there is any danger you will get a flashing warning light somewhere on the tach.
Look forward to seeing you at the track.
Norman
