Default Cab tops: 303 High Tech Fabric Guard???

I was about to order Raggtopp cleaner and protectant when my brother recommended the 303 High Tech Fabric Guard which he uses on his boat top (he feels it's a superior product). Does anyone have any experience with this product on their Porsche convertible top? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with it, but if your brother recommends 303 then give it a shot. Did you already have experience with Raggtopp? I used Raggtopp on my past cabs and loved how it beaded up the water but wish it lasted longer.

I used both on my Boxster top and preferred Raggtop. It seemed to last longer than the 303. John

303 is excellent stuff. I used it on my 2006 Cab and I hve used it for years on my boat black t-top that sits out in the sun 24/7.

I use 303 on my top. Love it. I used to use it every six months, but have moved to once per year because it was really overkill. You can find it very inexpensively at a few internet stores. Just do a search.

I use 303 once a month. I read in autotopia that raggtop is suppose to be better. But I am happy with 303. Used it on my prior convertible for years. Once a month

I've used all 3 discussed here and would rank them best to worst: RaggTop, 303, Tequipment.

What makes raggtop the best?

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll go with the Raggtopp. I've never used any of these products before. I had a professional detailer seal the top before I stored the car for winter but water doesn't seem to be beading and I think I need to do it myself.

YMMV, but RaggTop lasts the longest/best water beading for me. The Porsche stuff is the worst mess to apply/clean up and worst lasting. Apparently, with the RaggTop, you can apply without masking, but I've been too chicken to do that. I do more like I did with 303, but RaggTop lasts much longer. It depends on your climate and usage, but RaggTop will last me about 2 years.

Raggtopp claims no masking, one reason I bought it. It still leaves a bit of overspray that you need to wash off so i would just drape a towel over the side windows (slightly ajar) and along the back - just for easier clean up.

I have used Scotchguard with great success. The big indicator is whether you're getting good beading up after a car wash. I also recommend the Raggtop,--probably the best stuff. As **** as I am, I routinely will use blue tape and newspapers to mask off the entire car save the top and go at it with at least two coats.

How often would you treat yours if your car was in a warm climate and almost never sees rain?

Car is never sitting outside in sun for long periods of time. 3rd car - only driven for fun and short errands.

My past 993 was used similar to your situation and I treated mine 2x/year. I still have a partial-can of Raggtopp in my garage, you can have it - I no longer need it.
