The Paddles vs Buttons
So let's ask the question of potential PDK buyers. Given the choice between the current PDK steering wheel, and a steering wheel with simple "Left-down" & "Right-up" paddles behind the wheel, which would you choose?

Guess I'm not a "potential" buyer because I have 6,000 miles on my PDK. Wouldn't consider trading the current arrangement for paddles.

You are calling the two paddle system simple in an attempt to bias the response. The two paddle system is more complex in terms of parts than the PDK one button system with 'redundant' backup button. It's not a simple set up mechanically.
You need to strip your question of bias.
