Eric (Bumper Plugs) could probably aid you on this one.

I had mine covered (factory) with leather because I felt the 'space age material'--i.e., plastic--looks cheap.

Arena993 just posted a nice write up of this being done on the 993 forum. He's currently repainting his car to the original color. Porsche's best color ever, Riviera Blue. Here's the link.

Honestly, forget about painting the back of the seat that you never see anyway It didn't come from the factory that way and the finish on the current backs is probably not going to accept painting very well. The preparation work required could be substantial. Again, you sit in the seat, not behind it. If you feel you absolutely have to do this, don't try a DIY, bring it to the best paint shop you can find and hire them to be responsible for the project.
