Default Porsche decides to retire 911 after 2009

Due to the current economic condition, buying trends, and the rise of competitors such as the Nissan GT-R, Mercedes SL63 AMG, and BMW M3, I heard that Porsche is canning the 911 entirely after 2009. They're going to focus on the Panamera and Cayenne, recycling some of the R&D they devoted to the 991/998.

I really think this is a bad decision. Guys, I'm urging you to write a letter to your local dealer, PCNA, and PAG expressing your discontent!!

Yeh, but they are bringing back the 356 as a green car with its only four cylinders and repenting their 44 year misplaced sidestep into the 911.

This would be perfectly fine with me if they actually CX's the 911. This would make my 2009 worth so much more and then Porsche could finaly bring up the Cayman mid engine car and develop it into the car it should be.

Since the 911 is Porsche's selling horse...no one would have believed you.

As long as they bring back the 944, I'm ok with it.

Actually I heard that there will still be a 911 but it will be made in Korea and will have front wheel drive and a 1.3 liter engine.

Porsche is also equipping all Cayenne's with motors at each wheel and a bank of lead acid batteries to make the "Pig" more green - the technology is based on Dr. Porsches "System Lohner-Porsche electric carriage" from 1922....
