Default Auto Transport - Need some advice

Gents - My mom moving from las Vegas to New York and needs to transport a car (non-Porsche). Any advice on reputable auto transport services? She does not need "the best of the best" as its a 2-year old infiniti M35, but I at least want to find her someone reputable. Thanks in advance

I contracted with Intercity Lines on the recommendation of a couple Rennlisters to ship a '98 C4S I just bought from Florida to Colorado. They won't pick up the car until April so I can't tell you first hand about how they handle the car. But, great price for enclosed transport and they own their own trucks. Call Mike at 413-436-9511. www.intercitylines.com. Good luck.

Two things you need to look at:
1) The company you talk to is not a broker but the actual truck operator - that would get you better rates and a firm pick-up commitment;
2) The insurance covers your vehicle's value, regardless what the total value loaded on the truck is.

DAS is a nation-wide operator. Alternatively, do a local search and call a few companies to compare quotes. Good luck.

I had great luck with FedEx. Their Custom Critical division has a subdivision that just moves cars. They pick up at your door and deliver to door of destination using a closed trailer. You can get more info on the FedEx website.

Fedex brought me an Audi from Santa Barbara and I was very happy with the service. Would definitely use them again

Good luck with Intercity two of two times. I would use them again, definitely. You will need to be flexible on pickup and delivery times. They have a trailer to fill, and it may take a while to get somewhere like Arkansas or even Vegas. Just depends on the load.

They may have a Rennlist or 6Speed discount if you ask.

Cole, if you want I can throw her car up on centraldispatch.com where transports bid for it. All are bonded and insured. We use them all the time.

lemme know.

Chris - That would be very much appreciated it is a 2006 Infiniti M35, and she would be moving it from Vegas to Ny (westchester countty), likely sometime late April Feel free to PM me any specifci instructions if easier for my mom to simply do this herself so I don't take up too much of your time Thanks for the help bro

I used the Thomas Sunday company in 2006 and I found them in the Porsche Club publication called Panorama. They use their own trucks and are very professional and competent. Here is their site:

Charlene is the one to ask for. Phone number 800-541-6601. Good luck-Gary

My quote from FedEx was about 35% higher than Intercity. FWIW

I highly recommend DeMoise, they brought my 356 from Florida to L.A. and have moved cars for at least 7-8 friends (many RL'rs). Family owned and operated, own drivers (including some family), real nice and careful folks. www.demoise.com - Bill DeMoise runs the office. The drivers who handled my car live in Havasu, so they are real close to Vegas.

I've used Intercity threes time for my three vintage cars: Atlanta to NY; Ft. Lauderdale to NY and LA to NY. They were great each time. Not a scratch on any car and they were the cheapest.

Default Ballpark car shipping price

I'm opening my search wider to cars across the country, can someone post a few ballpark numbers to transport a Porsche? I assume coast to coast is thousands not hundreds of dollars?

Almost 3 years ago I paid $1,600 across country (Florida to L.A.); assume that went up (at least for a while) with higher fuel costs, perhaps similar now with lower fuel costs and the economy.
