On how to do it?

It's pretty easy. I think it took me all of 5 minutes to do both. There is a small stainless steel clip that holds it in position.

Two ways:

-Quick:
Feel near the Wheel Liner, the edge of the Marker Light. and pull straight out. This will bend the Metal Clip holding it in. This does have the slight possibility of damaging the Bumper Cover a bit. Once is ok, but don't do it each time to replace the bulb.

-Proper Way. Push the Marker Light from Front to Back towards the Wheel. This compresses the Spring Clip. Then Pull out from the Front.

Once out. Push down on the Spring Connector, and remove Wire Harness, attach to New RoW Version Clear Marker. Put Front Edge in First, and Push the Back Half in to secure. Step back, and enjoy how your car should have looked before the DOT twits got to it.

Isn't there something in the manual on how to pull the side markers out?

Yes - but the instructions I linked above are better. The manual has you using a screwdriver from inside the wheel well when it's really much simpler than that.

Thanks for posting that. Makes sense...

And for you jokers mocking the simplicity of the process, you wouldn't be laughing if you broke something on your first go, would you? Well maybe you would, since you're perfect.

2006 997 owner manual page. 275. Pull plug out of the inside splash guard next to side marker, feel the plug with your finger on the black splash guard, use flat screw driver to compress spring, side marker will come out.

I definitely wouldn't be laughing if I broke something trying to do this, I would be crying at my ineptitude
