+1--me too. Only nice thing I can say about our inspection and registration stickers. I wish Texas would go back to stickers on the license plates and also have inspections coincide with registration renewals so we can do away with two stickers on the windshield.

Don't do this in NY. They cross-check the license plates (which we have to put on the front of the car) and you get a mailbox full of tickets if you buy a new car without telling them.

Anyway, do you guys really have lives that are so sorted out that you can devote time to worrying about the EZPass in the front windshield?

So you actually peel off the EZ Tag & put it back on the new inspection or registration sticker every year?

does anyone know what the "exterior" EZ pass is?? they mention it on the website, but they say it is only for a few cars that have special windshields that block the signal. I would think that someone would steal it?

Great idea.

I see you applied the same idea to your license plate too (avatar).

They have to have solutions for cars that are not lockable.. such as jeeps or convertables.. that prevent someone from just walking off with the easypass.

Its probably a special license plate bracket that gets bolted on.

Looks good. I did the same but I used black velcro to hold the pass to the glass.

I have one on my car, it's a little black transponder that attaches to the front license plate frame. Contact EZ Pass via phone, tell them your car is equipped with a metallic windshield film that prevents use of an interior ez pass (and that you have repeatedly have trouble getting it to work),and they will send you one in the mail, no charge.

I'm sure someone sufficiently motivated could steal it, would require them to unscrew your front plate, but almost nobody knows what it is (my car is black so it kinda blends in, like the little front bumperettes on the early 996TTs), it's keyed to your license plate, and you'd know pretty quickly if it were to be stolen so I doubt it's a hot item for professional thieves.

I don't have a picture handy, but if you're interested I can try and fin tonight or tomorrow

Best,
Hans

You be the judge of the look of the license plate mounted EZ Pass... Not my car!

So what about mounting it under the bumper cover, where the Homelink transponder is mounted?

Maybe even install the GT style vent in the bumper cover and put this behind it?

Same here. I blow through all the time. I have 5 cars and 3 easypass transponders. Sometimes I forget the transponder. All the plates are listed on the account so they never fine me. But Pa and NY have gates so that can be problematic.
