Removal & Install - how?
This is one of the items on the top of my short list of to-dos. Especially after washing the car this past weekend and having to scrub all of that grime off of the stainless steel to get it not look like the tips were drug through a tar pit. Granted, the blackened tips will still need to be cleaned, but they will look less bad when they are dirty.
How hard is it to remove / install the tips? Is this something I can do in my garage with basic hand tools?

It's actually very easy. 1 bolt, just lay on your back with a wrench/ratchet and once you get it loose enough you can pull the tips right off. It took me about 15 minutes total. You'll be surprised how much build up and soot there is crusted inside the tips.

I know these tips are ceramic coated deals ... but ... what do you think about having them powder coated instead?
Is PC a problem? I have some wheels on my motorcycles that are PC and are wonderfully durable.

I'm thinking of doing the same, but mentally tossing the idea of having them done in ceramic black chrome vs ceramic flat black....
Has anyone done their's in black chrome? how do they stand up??

Would ceramic and powder coating not likely be the same thing?
Ceramic coating is a form of powder coating, right? (ceramic is applied as a powder and baked on)
Certainly the referenced vendor, Rennsport One, offers as a service "powder coating". Nothing mentioning a unique service of "ceramic coating".

That is why ceramic is used on headers, tips, testpipes as well as the hot side of turbines.
Basically for wheels or parts that don't heat up, you should powder coat, everything else that can get up to high temperatures (exhaust tips included) would be best to ceramic coat.
