Default OT: Audi Lease Buyout with CPO

My lease is up on my 2006 Audi A4 Avant 2.0T Manual in 2 months.
The dealer called and said that they could CPO the car for me for $2499 and $395 Dealer and handling fee. This seems really high to me?
Audi warranty is 4/50k. CPO is 6/100k.

What do you all think?

The car has been fantastic. Pcars aside, this has been my absolute favorite car of all time. I've had no problems with it over the last 3 years and Audi won't bring the new A4 Avant to the states in a manual. Buyout is only $19,500. Seems like a good

I think $2,900 for two years of warranty on a (relatively) simple 4-cylinder car is insane.

As with most CPO warranties, I'm also assuming there are exclusions, perhaps deductibles, etc. If the car has been solid, I'd roll the dice and skip it.

If you really want your car, I would negotiate the buyout price. Also with the extended warranty if there is no deductible, and it's bumper to bumper from Audi, I would definitely consider the purchase.

CPO price seems high. I believe it cost the dealership $1500 to CPO my 911 in '05. You should get some loyalty compensation from Audi to keep you in an Audi.

I've also heard the cost to CPO is $1500, seems high, given the economy right now it's a buyers market for everything.

19.5 seems really high. I would offer them 16k and expect them to take it. Times are tough for car manufacturers - it will be very difficult for them to move a manual avant.

A buddy of mine just bought a loaded CPO a6 (2006 with 22k miles) for $23k. That's a 50k car.

I was at an audi dealer yesterday looking at a 90k sticker a8l - 2006 with 30k miles. The asking price was 43k. The *salesman* told me to offer 70% of the ask - that is $30k!

They called you? LOL there is alot of room I repeat alot of room to negotiate in this economy. Skip the CPO , roll the dice, say no thank you and wait for there next phone call/ offer. They do not want that car back! Just recently on this board I guy with a Mercedes had a similar situation and they went much lower with numerous offers! Good Luck and Have Fun!

+1

If they actually expect customers to pay their normal mark-up price for CPO in the current economic climate, then they're either stupid or have had their head in the sand for the past 6 months. You have all the power, as they surely don't want that car back.

www.penfed.org. It's only $20 to become eligible through a "Friends of Military" club.

Then buy the Mechanical Breakdown Protection (that's all an extended warranty is anyway). It's an "exclusionary policy", meaning that unless the part is specifically excluded the defect must be repaired. Term is 100,000 miles on odo or 6 years from warranty purchase date, not the cars in service date. No deductible and your choice of repair shop, including dealer. I paid $1700 for my 2006 F150 King Ranch. BTW, the dealer loves doing the work because it's incremental revenue.
