Not bad. What year and how many miles your car has?

As the owner of numerous German and Italian cars over the last 4 decades, NEVER buy a European car without a warranty!

just picked up mine today. a guy i know is the finance manager and he hooked me up. if your car is still under warranty then all you have to do is pay over the phone. 3% surcharge for credit card. I got Plat coverage with $100 deductible 6 years 60k miles. My car is an 07 TT with 30k on it. I paid $5500. Suncoast quoted me $9200 for the same warranty and a $250 deduct. That's insane. he said he would be willing to do $500 over cost for any of my P car buddies. So that would be near $6k. Still $3200 cheaper. No sales tax. i can post a copy of it if anyone wants to see it.

thanks,
sid

Good decision to buy.

3 years back I picked up a 7/70 Fidelity Platinum policy with $100 deductible. Because my 997 was under 10K miles, the pricing was $2300. But prices for all these products have gone up and some other warranty companies are no longer offering coverage for Porsches.

I posted this back in May- updated it a bit now-

I bought fidelity platinum for former 02 996C2- few minor items covered + RMS which was a big cost- it also helped with re-sale-

got same Fidelity coverage for wife's 07 BoxsterS few yrs back 6 yr 60k addt'l miles w/ $100 ded- from Sunset in Oregon at good price- so far only used for few minor items- nice not worrying about RMS or IMS issues on her car-

This May 2014 got Fidelity Platinum coverage for my 07 997TT $250 ded 6 yr/60k addt'l miles - again from Sunset Porsche in Oregon at decent discount. Debated on it for TT since i was still under CPO, decided having coverage for addt'l 6 yrs was worth $4300 cost and got it before price went up or they stopped covering the 07 TT. My car has 24k miles & is currently under CPO until 3/15.

Mine is cpo till December and I thought about waiting. Then I thought about the price going up on the warranty or loosing the hook up so I decided to jump on it. When sun coast quoted me $9k for $100 deduct and 7800 for $250, that made the decision clear.

Thanks - Sid

Default warranty

Did purchase a ml63 2011 recently. 50k miles. Did purchase extended fidelity warranty, gold (not platinum), valid for 36k miles/3 years. Paid $7k for it. Did drive the car for 20k miles in less than a year. So far, I had to replace ALL 4 air shocks, leaking at different times, $1.3k each. Speed sensors, $1.5k. Intake manifold, $4k (because is an AMG....). Total, about $13k. Fidelity did not like it but they ponied up. And I am sure it is not the end of it before the warranty expires. Engine and transmission are flawless, I checked. But the other stuff... it breaks. I would not be a happy camper if I had not purchased the warranty.

I should had done that before my 99 996 engine blew with a cylinder crack, years ago. That was $8.5k out of pocket for rebuilding the engine, and I was lucky at that price.

Looking at an extended warranty for our 2013 991 C4S. 26,200 on the clock. Quoted $6k for 6yr/72k with $250 deductible from dealer in AK (yes, AK!). Anyone have an opinion on that pricing? It's the Platinum warranty.

I paid $3.5k for a 4yr/48k mile platinum warranty from fidelity for my 2008 Boxster (RS 60) from Sunset Porsche here in Oregon. They're really good at negotiating (started with $4.8k) and sell US wide.

Call them and ask for Tarah Land (tarah.land@sunsetimports.com) - 503.641.8600.

Cheers
Daniel
