Seat heaters/Homelink not working
I just fot my 2006 C4S Cab back from sevice at the dealer where they replaced the battery under warrenty. When I drove the car I noticed the seat heater and the homelink didn't work (no indicator lights). I checked the fuse box and there is not a fuse specified for either so I checked them all and couldn't find a bad fuse. Any ideas before i call the dealer next week?

when you state that you checked the fuses I assume that means you pulled each one out and then reseated it. The schematics seem to suggest C6 for the garage door opener and E1 (left) and E2 (right) for the seats.

Try resetting the PCM console. The seat heaters are wired through the seat circuit but are switched through the console. Can't suggest anything other than what you've tried.

This gets done when it comes off of the truck (think "handing over" to dealer) however, it will not always activate everything on the first try. Homelink/Seat heaters are 2 signs it needs to be done again. Fault memories should all be cleared after a battery replacement.

Does this happen everytime you disconnect or remove the battery?
Just wondering as this winter is the first time I have stored my 2008 997S.
Will I have to plan a trip to the dealer for a "reset" after I put the battery back in?

I would use a trickle charger if I could, but car is in a storage bay that does not have an electrical outlet. So to repeat my question, do you lose Homelink/seat heaters everytime a battery is removed or is it just some cars/conditions that it happens with?

I would tend to say yes, however, I can't say for certain. You might try a 9volt battery cigarette lighter plug to keep the circuits energized, but I don't know how long the battery would last.

It seems very odd, that the car is designed to not be able to remember things. Maybe its a safety feature to keep the seat heating from causing a problem by coming on after storage... but given its a button, could it just default to off as it does? Having features 'turn off' with the removal of a battery seems stupid in the days of flash memory.

I realize this is an old thread, but found it after my 2006 C2S just had a similar problem. Periodically the seat heaters will fail to work and the auto-dimming mirrors as well. Turning the car off and back on usually resolves it, so clearly it's not a fuse issue. It'd be hard to show the dealer since it's not a hard failure, rather one that happens intermittently. Anyone else had the same problem recently?

Changed the battery on my car and now the seat heaters and homelink don't work.
Anyone know if the durametric tool will replicate the dealer "handover" procedure to fix this issue?
TIA!

How many times has been stated in this forum that while batteries are changed in a DIY manner, a battery maintainer should be connected to keep alive the electronics?
