Add XM to a 2009?

There is a retrofit unit which attaches to the pcm installed by the dealer. I priced this out for my 2005 997 and it was going to cost somewhere between 1100-1200 dollars including labor...ouch! The antenna is place along the cowl, so it is nicely concealed BTW

I suspect that a full retrofit (update) to some of the newer technology will be cost prohibitive. There may be more to all of this than simply swapping out PCMs...

When I ordered my wife's 09 Cayenne S, without XM, they asked if I was sure and said it costs a bunch to add later. Not very scientific, but the sales manager I was with knows his stuff so I suspect it can be added, just costly.
